Sow 8m???? There is a reason we got him for 600k

That's he's carrying a injury (after being trashed, at times, on a 3 game week) not surprising given the intensity and style of his game. Sooner or later you're going to get hurt. This stage of the season most players will be carrying some form of niggle. Each time he's had a run in the side, Forest have climbed to top 6. He makes 'player of the season' contenders like Cash and Watson (and the whole team) appear better. He's clearly been pivotal and results with him in the side prove it. He'll be worth 8 million now. Car' was bought for £13.5 million. One of those two players has been pivotal to our season. One hasn't. We made our luck getting Sow for 600k. I bet you won't get a player like Sow for 600k now. If we were to sell him in the Summer. I'm pretty confident Forest would get a lot more than that now. As for Car', I wonder how much Forest would get for him now. SA.

As Warnock once said, '600K? You wouldn't buy Chris Luketi's right arm for that.' (Re: Forest's interest and bid for him.)

Forest's recruitment bought a whole 'Sow' for that.

Plus, he's our player of the season. Twice heaving the 'blow hard' Forest into the top 6.
He's been the jewel of Summer recruitment. I like the redemptive stories of Watson at DCM, I'm thrilled that Cash is doing mighty fine at RB, I'm pleased Worrall isn't making mistakes against teams any more (well, apart from one of those goals against Boro'...) But how did they do without Sow in the side...all those 'lengthy' injury to Sow games? How did Forest do? SA.

So after lots of debate. To answer the question at the start of the thread.
I back them for now. I think they have done enough to have another go at it in the summer.

Surely the fact that we have been top 6 just about the whole season tells us that the recruitment team must be doing something right. They deserve another crack at it this summer.

We need to compliment our defensive resolve with more attacking threat, pace and flair for next year regardless of the league we are in.
Over to the recruitment team but surely most of our signings this summer will operate in the attacking third of the pitch.

I think you have nailed it nicely there. That is how I see things. Yes and No. Summer recruitment was in the main great, yes they got it wrong with Mir,, Cherma, Muric, Semedo and especially Jenkinson at £2m, have all been waste of money, can anyone argue with that? We at least made money back on Cherma, and the others were loans, and Semedo has had his moments. The signings though of Sow, Silva, Samba and Riberio were simply outstanding and imagine the transfer value has gone up for the likes of Samba (now worth£8m), Silva (£4m) Riberio (£5m) have gone up considerably, and sure if Samba wasnt 31 and injury prone he to would be worth £5m - but he is still a bargain at the £1m we paid for him! I also like Bostock, but for whatever reason he has hardly figured. Ameobi of course was good, yet a Martin O Neill and Roy Keane recommendation, but he is certainly worth more than his bosman free now signed a new 1 year deal. That summer though they missed a crucial signing of another striker - even Sabri bemoaned that. And they did not rectify that in January, which was simply terrible IMO and one of the reasons we are now looking over shoulder and not pushing on for automatics. I said it at the time and sad to say it looks like i was right. We wont make Autos, but a few more wins we should make the play offs, but non of the signings in January have really contributed to that at all. The best was da Costa, but not sure good value at £2m, but i do like him, his pace will cause problems. Although as said in January, it was a gamble to bring in a player at his age and didnt know the championship, it would take time for him to settle and warm up, and probably see the best of him next season (more so if we stay in Championship as dont think he would be good enough for EPL) As for the others Bong -. Everyone knows i had written him off before he kicked a ball, and was so angry giving giving a 32 year who was past it, a 2.5 year contract, and after saying it i had posters attacking me for it as he was Premier league Player and to give him a chance. Well, he has not been seen at all since that nightmare debut. IS he still at the club? I am sure if Riberio was to get injured i cannot see Bong playing, but hey could be proven wrong we do have a few games left and the sooner we make play offs we can rotate and freshen up the squad, so lets see if he comes in. I think Dihakhby is one of the worst players i have seen in a Forest shirt, and cannot understand why he continues to figure. His best game for Forest was as ball ball v Huddersfield. They simply didnt buy a proven striker (and would like to know reasons why, without saying January is a difficult window, as they had failed to do it in the Summer) so they brought back Walker, who now cannot even make a bench of 9 players!! The recruitment will get another chance, of course they will because who is going to sack them, have they done well as we are in top 6? Cant say yes to that, they have done ok though and lets hope they improve in the summer. We are there because it goes down to coaching and the majority of the team who have been here a number of years, in Cash, Worrall, Figeurido, Yates, Watson, Lolly, Grabban, Johnson, Mighten, Dawson, whilst Carvalho has kept bench warm. Strong first 11 but lack of quality in depth.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion - COYR :)
