I read on another forum that there were 1000 objections and everyone assumed it was the boat club. That's just wrong. The RBC website states: Comments Received 2007, Objections 91, Supporting 1911.

So to blame the boat club is wrong. And the club is wrong to suggest there's been 'planning delays', infering others are to blame. For a significant (housing) development like this, which has undergone a re-design mid application, the council were perfectly right to re-consult and require an extra month to determine the application as a result.

The club were/are obviously trying to use the replacement of the stand (which seems to be supported) as leverage in the planning application for the development of the apartments. From a strategy point of view that was probably the right tactic as an application for just the apartments would be hugely contentious. 

In my mind work starting in May was always massively optimistic without all this virus stuff.

It tells us the club put its planning application in too late and wont get the planning permission required to commence work in May, so has put the redevelopment on hold for a year. So the PT stand will be open for business next season. Assuming there is a next season of course!

Actually I think I have got the wrong end of the stick so apologies. I assumed PT season cards were renewing for the same seat hence no building work. Unless someone knows otherwise they are renewing for other parts of the ground? I am TE so cant confirm.

As Tricky said, they cant get planning permission in time so have shelved the new stand for a year. Accordingly, they are now allowing PT stand season ticket holders to renew.
