I’d suggest that to be a compliment Joe.

Thought they were both decent championship players nothing more.

Interesting.
A championship standard player who skippered a side to win the Premier League ( & has made well over 250 appearances in the PL ).

This is what I had to say about Rob on another thread: ''I can't knock Bob Rosario. I remember when he scored the winner against Tottenham at home. I flew in from America for the game (yes I know, I was mad) and he made the trip and expense worth every penny''.

big bob was a good footballer - great touch and good at link play - we needed a goal scorer at the time, not a foward foil for one! We also were desperate for a centre half that season with clough and keane filling in. Webb came back unfit- bannister did OK but no Sheringham and we had a purple patch after Christmas until end of Feb where we there the most in form team which clouded the need for re-enforcements. Clough should have got collymore and cooper then - they were all organised by the board to come in in Feb but he was too pig headed. Also a result at southampton on the eve of the transfer deadline also stopped clough from spending.

Losing Walker and Wassall then Pearce, Wilson & Chett being injured for much of the season, allied to Mark Crossley having a dramatic dip in form, plus finding out that Carl Tiler could not run or jump meant there were just too many defensive cracks to paper over. Then add in flogging Teddy. Tough season! |
