He was a flop but I always thought he had something about him. Like others have said it was just a disasterous season for many reasons.

There was a game in Division One where he simply ran into a post, that moment summed him up for me, he was worse than the much maligned Gareth Taylor.

What about Eugen Bopp?

I liked this lad and I reckon he could have gone onto greater things if it wasn't for that dreadful challenge by the scum's Craig Burley. Only managed a total of 77 appearances for us between 2001 - 2006.

For me though he was a hit.

A hit for me too.
I remember that game vividly - mainly for that ‘tackle’ and salivating over Michael Dawson in his pomp.

He married a Nottingham Lass and he has a business renovating properties.

I will give you one to think about, David Johnson.

Most I suspect will immediately shout Hit! You remember an infectious character, battling attitude and of course the fantastic season in 2002/3 when he hit 25 in the playoff campaign under Paul Hart, possibly our most fondly remembered season of the last 20 wretched years.

Why a flop then? He joined for a whopping £3.5M in 2001. His form in his first 2 seasons was so poor he was loaned out twice. He then hit his stride with that 25 goal season and signed a 3 year contract extension the following summer. However not long into the next season he suffered a horrific double leg fracture, I can still picture him lying in agony in front of the Trent End with a concerned Lynn Jarrett (much loved late club doc) kneeling beside him. Maybe Not DJ’s fault but he never rediscovered any kind of form following injury but of course we had him for 3 more seasons, we didnt have a reliable goal scorer and that was undoubtedly a contributing factor in our eventual relegation to L1.

So hit or flop? Big outlay, poor start, one great season then an injury ravaged career resulting in relegation.

Cant remember who the opposition were or when it was, but I can recall him completely running one game and terrorising the opposition's defence.

But I also cant forget his first two seasons where he was dreadful.

He picked up a very serious injury GreenMan which unfortunatley he never recovred from. I saw him have some great games in a Forest shirt, some of his passing was a delight to watch. If it wasn't for his injury he would have gone on to greater things in a Forest shirt.

I saw a lot of him too and he was just a Meh Type of player, injury or no injury. If we’re going to call David Johnson a flop which I completely agree with than Flopp(sorry I mean Bopp) is too.
