A Hit Or A Flop
Tough to say flop because he never arrived with any major expectations. Just meh really, someone who we will all have forgotten about in a few years.

A striker who did pretty well over a shortish time I think is in the news today - Gareth Taylor. He has taken over as Man. City manager on a 3 year deal. If my memory serves he was a tall, blonde lad who headed the ball well and was decent with the ball at his feet. I should mention it's their Women's team he's got.

Promoted(?) from running their men’s U18 team.
Always thought some of the stick he got from our fans was unwarranted.
Good luck to him.

Total flop for me. He was like a poor mans Lee Chapman. Or more like a destitute mans version.

Gareth Taylor never impressed me - Flop.

I could never understand why we didn't sign Dimitris Papadopoulos instead, he was Taylors strike partner at Burnley and a much better player in my opinion.
COYR!

Poor man’s Lee Chapman is what I always used to call him?. Meant to be a target man, he was better at elbowing people than heading the ball. And unlike the real Lee Chapman he wasn’t able to make up for his lack of skill with goals. Total cart horse.

I can safely say Taylor is up there amongst my least favourite players of all time. For a start he will forever be associated with the team that got relegated to L1 and anyone in that team is automatically deemed a flop. There is an argument in his defence in that he top scored that season but it aint saying much.
Agree with you Heanor he could head the ball but was even better at elbowing in the face and he picked up a load of costly red cards, horrible player.
