Play Offs 2020

Of course there's no precedent but I recall from my refereeing days that if a match was abandoned that is not postponed but actually stopped then the score stood but only if the time at the abandonment was 70 minutes or more. I had to do this twice, once for a mass brawl and once for serious threats of violence. Anyhow I suppose that you could argue that the FA does accept the score (or maybe league positions?) if the game (season) can't be completed. So the league positions could stand as long as 70/90th of the games had been played. I make that around 35 games. All the Championship teams have played 37 games. Sorry if that's obscure.

I would say this is the most likely outcome at this point.

No chance. It will start with the Premier League.
They determine that the status quo must remain - and everyone else can get stuffed.

With transfer windows linked across European leagues, plus international competitions, I think the solution will be the same across Europe. Whether that is cancel current season or play later in the year before started revised calendar for following seasons.

It now seems appropriate to bring this thread back because play offs is where we are heading.

It is looking like Fulham will be up first for us home and away.

This will be the first time we’ve reached the play offs when I haven’t fancied us to go all the way.

Hopefully that’s an omen.

We have proved that we can go toe to toe with the teams above us this season.

We have nothing to fear.
