Joao Carvalho
We didn’t sign a £13m player, we signed a young player with big potential. Potential costs money. Does anyone honestly believe that Matty Cash is a £15m player? Of course he isn’t, but he is a young player with the potential to become a player who’s worth much more in the future.

We paid £13m for a talented young player who, if all went well, could be worth double that amount in a few years. It was an investment, and seemed to be a decent one in his first season. However, due to Forest changing managers and football styles, and Carvalho not responding with sufficient determination we now have a player who would be a cut price gem for a club who are prepared to develop his obvious potential.

Chance against barnsley are you jokeing he was probably our best player , and got subbed off at 1-0 chasing a game just like freeman against qpr Honestly some of sabri’s descisions have baffled me at times . We shithoused wins by counter attacking teams who liked to attack last season untill we got found out . Sabri’s style wont push us to automatic promotion bit the squad with 1 or 2 additions could time for sabri to go I’m afraid .

How much potential had Carvalho shown to merit that fee? Half a season at Vitoria where he pulled up no trees?

At least Cash had 3/4 seasons of continuous improvement before establishing himself as one of the best players in our division.

His fee for me is now irrelevant.
He’s here - can we / should we use him?

If he is up to the job, we should use him. If he isn't we should try and sell him on.

For his and the clubs sake

'Baffled. Freeman hardly played last season. He is not properly match fit.

What is now happening with this guy is he back training with the squad ? If sabri gets sacked does he get a Clean slate . For me he needs to be back in the fold , with the signing of Arter and colback this lad should play put him in the team with frewman wide left lolley right and Taylor as the striker .

I can't see Carvalho getting back in the fold under Sabri. No way especially with all our new signings.

Then the sooner he is sold on, the better for all concerned

Easier said than done, I suspect if there was even a vaguely decent offer he'd be long gone. Olympiacos on loan seems the most sensible option assuming no-one comes in.

Brum?!

In the pecking order of those we have who can play 'in the hole' he's about 5th.
Freeman
Silva
lolley
Brennan
Carvalho
Sabri seems to pass responsibility for shifting out the list of unwanted players to others at the club and I guess it isn't his job as head coach.
There is no doubt Carvalho is on this list though. He is too often a passenger, like Dowell was, going missing in games, except Dowell scored goals. If he is as good as people think, he needs to affect games like Tomlin does. Tomlin may not look fit or mobile but he does things which ooze class and you are nervous when he plays against your side. Sadly Carvalho is done at Forest in my opinion.

I too feel Carvalho is unlikely to feature in near future under lamouchi. Had he not been our record signing I doubt there would be many craving for his selection, but he is so there is. I would like to see him loaned out. To me that would be a good move for all parties. At his age he needs to be playing regularly, for us it will either allow him to get some form and confidence as well as put him in the shop window so we could claw some money back on him.

It's a shame, but as I say if he was not our record signing I doubt many would be that fussed.
