Reds v Bristol City Pre match comments.....
It saddens us all I'm sure when we see that the once famous Nottingham Forest have lost all 4 of their games so far
It's looking bleak. Their next game is against an on-form, table-topping, winning machine! Then a tricky visit to Blackburn after the break.
Would a 5th straight defeat mean the end of the line for Lamouchi?
Imagine the managerial candidates:
Chris Hughton
Paul Cook
Lee Johnson
Would any of those be a fit for Forest?
P.S. I actually think it'll be a tricky game on Saturday if Lamouchi has got the new recruits up to speed this week. I'm sure @Davefevs will go into that in more detail later!
You had to mention it, 4-0 loss.
Too late, it's out there now.
Actually I'll double down... we'll beat them by 3 clear goals
We are the masters at ending teams bad form.
Watching their highlights on Quest, I was wondering if Lamouchi is one of those Managers who prefers to let his players play themselves into fitness. They looked like they lacked pace and energy and I thought Luke Freeman and a couple of others looked like they were carrying some "extra timber" as they say.
I think they had 7 new players ?
If so, thats a lot of bedding in to do.
I'd expect their form to pick up over the next few games and to be in or around the playoffs at seasons end.
Do you think Lamouchi will be given time?
By Forest ?
Not a chance.
We will do them !
Forest 3 league defeats, us 3 league wins - on past history banker win for Forest then...
It's written in the stars... Comfortable home win, followed by "it's how we react" comment from DH
3-0
Man sent off second half. Haven't decided who yet
Can we just look forward instead of forever looking back at our old shackles ?
I know we have suffered, some longer than others but the past is the past.
This is the new City, Holden’s hero’s .
**** Forest, **** Lamouchi .
Let’s chop ‘em down.
I'm tempted to put a 10er on us losing not gonna lie. It's just lining up too perfectly..
Put at least £50 on, absolutely guaranteed
There might not be any stats to back it up, but it feels like we often play teams at the wrong end of a bad run.
That said, i reckon we are good for a point on Sat.
Everybody’s favourite ref is doing the game. Keith ‘everyone look at me’ Stroud.
I may be in the minority, but I like this guy. OTT yes with his hand signals, but seems to be consistant and fair to both teams, even if that is consistantly crap at times.
Strangely enough I quite like the guy too although our record with him in charge is not good. Don't know if Forest's is any better.
We have reason to be confident for Saturday but while Forest are yet to score I don't know if they've been playing that badly. Ameobi certainly had some decent strikes on goal at Huddersfield.
Not that I mind but good way to p*ss off the Forest fans by calling them Notts Forest.
I can't remember who it was against but the last time I saw him ref us he made a few errors but I'd say most favoured us, as did most of the 50/50 s
Why does someone always curse us, arrrggghhhhhh!
Can't say 'Notts Forest' it is against the law and really p!sses Forest fans off!
Notts Forest it is then.
Their match day thread is already six pages long and they appear more depressed than we do.
Skybet have us at 15/8 at the moment. Those are great odds considering the respective form.

i had a half hearted attempt to find the Brizz forums, either way, wherever they are, they look copy and paste intensive, basically what i'm saying is i am very lazy, the best feeble excuse is also navigating around them, past adverts and trying to get to a logical starting point, crikey i am thick, though, i do think the Brizz fans comments will give us maybe the best indication of how we did yesterday

Reds v Bristol City match comments.....
The weather is atrocious right now at the City Ground.
Will definitely have an impact on our game, and likely to disrupt our quick passing style.
What a save Bentley.
Incredible save bentley top keeper.
Get in there Andi!!
Andi Weimann. No composure again - headless chicken.
Fantastic play by Martin. What a signing!
Riding our luck a bit.
Bentley to the rescue again.
Would have said other than the goal, Forest have shaded it.
Other than the goal.
Positions aside I'd have taken a point before kick off.
Great save from Samba.
Nakhiiiiii. 2-0!
Jesus lads. Stop this. It's not natural.
Great goal....good assist... Great switching ball.
2 really good goals from us. Think Forest will be changing their manager after this game?
Shocking defending by Florist mind. We would be slagging our boys off if it was vice versa!
This is a day you wish there was a crowd - it would be toxic towards the home side.
October is usually the time of the first sacking , maybe forest manager will be gone after this.
Colback overdue for a booking.
Superb second goal, however DB has prevented them scoring two....otherwise it would be 2-2.
I`d say 2-3, Samba stopped a certain goal from CM.
Bugger bloody freeman.
One hell of a hit mind.
Bollocks had to be him. One Hell of a goal though.
Bad closing down.
Nearly 2-2.
What a pain in the arse Harry Arter is!
Why has Hunt been booked? It was Wells that made the foul?
Why have none of the forest players been booked?
Keith Stroud doing Keith Stroud things.
Get to half time leading and reorganise the lads. Hopefully break up Forests play a bit.
How does Colback not get booked there?
Do you really need the answer?
Vyner is weak. Not good enough if we are going to push for promotion.
That's the spirit! Write off a season based on one player over 45 minutes. Because since he has been in the side, results have been awful, and we are getting hammered today....
We stopped playing at 2-0, almost as if we felt it was too easy for us. Good little half-time tester for Holden, here. Nottingham Forest have too many good players for us to not massively tighten up.
Paterson been poor. Freeman dictating the game atm.
,Just need to play football. Everything they’ve had is off of the back of our errors. When we’ve kept the ball they’ve been hopeless.
Our midfield are getting outclassed.
Another superb save from Bents.
Stroud is abysmal.
Shots and xG stats for this game are going to be madly in Forest's favour.
Bentley has kept us in this, clear MOM.
How are we still winning?
We really need to sort this very quickly, it’s been one-way traffic throughout second half. Wave after wave of pressure from Forest and at present it seems only a matter of time before they score, if they do equalise they will be sky high and feel they can win it.
Forest will be top of the fair play league with the leniency of Stroud.
Has Colback got a free pass for his birthday? 3 obvious yellows.
Forest much the more dangerous side in the second half, most likely deserved something and we had to dig really deep to sneak the win. As tense a second half as we have had. Think this may look an even better result come the end of the season.
Forest will win a few this season so this could be a great result come the finish.
It was tough to watch, real back to the walls stuff - conceding 21 shots on goal is not good, thank you Dan Bentley MOTM - he's owed a few beers tonight.
Fortunate that there were no fans there, could’ve been the 12th man for them.
Or fortunate for Forest they weren't there when they went 2-0 down after losing the previous 3! Wouldn't have been a good atmosphere for them.
Phew, glad that's over. Tough watch in the second half. Forest really stretched us and their Wide Forwards stopped our WBs getting us forward and cycling the ball side to side.
Feel a bit for Lamouchi, who's quite likely to be sacked off the back of that despite his team being way better than us on the day.
Have to say thought Forest were decent and Bentos saved us the win. Think this will prove to be a very good 3 points later in the season, regardless of whether their trigger happy owner does it again.
Spot on.
They have been on a poor run but deserved at least a point today & from 0-2 it was pretty much all them.
Defensively poor early on but believe all of the back four have joined this season & at least 1 was making their debut
Would be harsh on him to lose his job after that performance!
Their best performance this season but still ends with defeat, some chairman are stupid
3 wins in 20.
If we went on the same form then this forum would be baying for a sacking.
It was a good a 3 points as Stoke, I feel Forest will push top 6 this season.
Chris Hughton written all over it
Probably be someone that most have never heard of.
Would Hughton even take the gamble with Forest turnover of managers?
"The bloke what owns Forest has just typed 'It's over' innit."
Has he gone yet?
Nothing on the Forest OS so just wild speculation.......

Thanks for posting this Joe.
Nice to see the opponents fans acknowledging a decent second half by us, even if some of our own fans are too blind to have seen it!!

Blackburn v Forest Pre Match Comments....
I broke my duck of starting match threads which produce a win with our 3-2 victory at Cardiff in the twilight zone in May so I hope I am not resurrecting previous perennial bad luck by starting this thread...
Being a contrarian..
Forest changing Managers at least means TM won't have spent two weeks obsessing about what Forest are going to do and disappearing up his own tailpipe producing a team and tactics that totally bemuse the out of position Rovers players. Unless he is Mystic Mog, he won't know what Hughton is going to conjure up from that huge Forest squad which will most likely include at least two new signings making debuts.
His only option is to concentrate on what Rovers are going to do and hopefully formation and tactics are a given. We will have 4-3-3 with players in their natural positions again please Tony.
However, choice of Personnel could be a bit more tricky.
Hopefully we will only have Travis, Dack and Butterworth unavailable which means Stergiakis, Rankin-Costello, Lenihan, Ayala, Evans and Gallagher should all be available and that is without reckoning on one or more AN Others signed before the transfer window cut-off to be available for selection.
Established players are not going to be in the matchday 18, quite apart from getting a starting slot. It would be really cruel to see Buckley and Chapman not making the bench but that would seem likely for at least one of them.
Big decisions will need to be made selecting between Nyambe and JRC, Ayala, Williams and Lenihan, whether to bring Evans in especially if he has two more good games for Northern Ireland, and one from Gallagher and Dolan. I suspect if an AN Other signing is a left back with a sweet cross in him, Gallagher will get that nod in the expectation he will nod in a cross or two coming in late at the far post... Equally I expect Gallagher will be ineffectual and replaced by Dolan before the 70th minute.
I just hope Mowbray doesn't overthink permutations and starts saving players for the journeys to Watford and Coventry which happen within seven days of the Forest game.
We know Forest will come to Ewood all fired up wanting to start their season five games late under their new boss. We know they have some very good players. We know Kaminski is going to have to be outstanding to keep his run of clean sheets going. We know Rovers are going to have to be at their best in taking their chances to win this one.
Deep down we also know if 20/21 is going to be a very special season for Rovers, this is the sort of game we have got to be winning.
Rovers have shown what they are really capable of but Forest have a new manager and TM has wobbled with his most recent substitutions.
Does he have the intelligence to move us forward?
As ever I think not but am desperate to be proven wrong.
I'm not sure what "wobbled with his most recent substitutions" means.
We lacked penetration throughout the Cardiff game, Armstrong having missed our best chance. Mowbray actually introduced three attack-minded players as subs, so he certainly didn't go negative.
Dolan was finding things much more difficult than in the two comfortable victories. Frankly, we are just not very good at breaking down nine/ten-man defences, full-stop! That's where someone like Dack can make the difference.
I wouldn't be surprised by any score against Forest, but I am a bit less worried about the defence now, and it looks as if Evans will be available to play as an extra "holding" player in midfield, if required.
New manager bounce, along with a possible new centre back pairing.
I am not up for this game at all.
1-4 loss
Streuth, Robin - that's a bit gloomy!
I'm going 2-1 to Rovers.
4-1 to Rovers ..
Sorry aucks,I didnt fancy this game before the manager change, even less now.
We could have Williams and lenihan out against a quality team, fired up to impress the new manager.
3 - 1
