If Grabban is not capable of hitting the target on at least 3 occasions when it was easier to hit it than it was to miss it.
No you are right it is not his fault that grabban missed these chances.

It is his fault to continuously apply the same tactics and expect different results each time despite the fact we can all se that it's not working.

It is his fault that he continues to play a striker who is bang out of form, has been for months, when we have options now available.

It is his fault that he made grabban captain when he isn't captain material and we have better options on the pitch.

It is his fault that, when chasing the game he takes off our best and most creative player.

I have mentioned before that he needs to change. He hasn't. You yourself have said that he doesnt need to change. If that is the case we are fooked with this manager. He is no longer taking us forward we are in sharp decline and have been for a long time now.

We have been sussed out and sabri either cant see it or refuses to do anything about it.

I dont like the changing of manager and I see the issues that come with that but christ he needs to go now.

I can't fault what you're saying.

Winning and losing can become a habit.

Sometimes you can be so close to the problem you can't see how to fix it.

The last half a year hasn't been good since January, really.

But I'm prepared to see how the 1st ten games go with the 7 new signings incoming and up to speed to see if 'The Coach's' approach has merit.

2 successive seasons with the same Coach is an opportunity we don't often get.

Still think we need another better winger.  And a CM who can put their foot on the ball and pass forward.

We've brought in a talented young CH.  But I think the problem with Worrall and Figs is it's either or.  A more experienced head in there with the other on the bench.  We do have Big Ben.  We do have Blackett.

SA.

I know what you are saying SA and I get it.

On the other hand in 10 games time we could be so far off promotion that this season could already be lost.

I also agree that we need a winger but even with a top signing, the negative tactics and lack of desire to attack and press teams will mean the same outcome.

Yes we do need signings but we also need the manager to see what he is doing is part of the problem. I would love it if he was the manager at the end of the season. It’s looking very unlikely.

As someone pointed out yesterday it’s only the first game... except it isn’t. This is just another in a long line of very negative, very boring and very concerning performances.

'Negative tactics. Last season we had our highest finish for 7 years. Sabri got the most we could have expected from a limited squad which he inherited after pre- season had started. If we had tried to out football the likes of Leeds Fullham West Brom Brentford Swansea we would of got hammered. We simply weren't good enough to do that. He has now brought some players in of his choosing and we should give them more than one league game and one Carrabo cup game to gel before writing him and them off.

I think we are all well aware of our highest finish for the best part of a decade. However, most of that was achieved before feb. Since beating Leeds our form has been nothing short of diabolical.

If it was a 2 or 3 game dip then you can be forgiven. Even with the end of the season I could forgive if, on coming back we were demonstrating that we had learnt from the mistakes we made.

But the reality is very different is it not? Let’s look at the 2 games (yes the Barnsley game counts) back this season.

How many shots on target?

How many goals?

2 Dcm in both games and one of them being Yates (yes he breathes Nottingham Forest but that doesn’t mean he is good enough).

Players with genuine quality left out of the squad completely.

Sitting back inviting the opposition on to us hoping to counter attack.

Going a goal down before starting to apply any form of pressure.

Conceding a goal in the 94th minute

None of these traits are any different to last season. However, this you could argue, has not worked for us since feb. And we are continuing where we left off at the end of the season. Only person to blame is the manager.

You can argue that grabban should have scored 3 yesterday and that is not the managers fault. However, he is at fault for picking a striker bang out of form When we have other options. Sabri clearly has his favourites and it is doing more harm than good.

Look, I really hope he succeeds and I will be the first to admit I’m wrong if he does. I just can’t see it at the moment. And no matter which way you look at it, our tactics are negative. We concede possession and sit back. We play 1 striker with very little support. We play 2 cdm home and away.

Counter attacking football is great to watch when applied in the correct way. And at times last season was a delight to watch. But teams have worked out how to play against us. High press forcing us to go long. Easy. We should beat teams like Barnsley, qpr, Charlton, Stoke, Millwall and I could go on, if we are going for promotion. It is no use beating the top w or 3 teams but losing and drawing against those at the bottom end.

Well said that man.

I agree the manager is responsible for results. Grabban missing chances, Worrall being dozy, Figs making errors of judgement, Gabriel being too raw to start, are all Sabri’s responsibility. That is what he is paid good money for. It is the bottom line.

Not sure that poll from last week would look as good today!

Three games and no goals, not ideal.

Not seen any mutterings yet about Sabri going so assuming he gets more time, what can he do to turn things around?

I would suggest there's a few obvious changes, Taylor starting, bringing in the other new players if fit eg Soh, Christie. Change tactics? 2 up top? If we're saying lolley isn't fit then arguably 352 makes sense as you don't need wingers.

I would suggest trying to build around our supposed best players so get freeman playing number 10 and build around that (like we tried with Carv under Karanka)

He is the best we could have hoped for and has a history of promotion and consolidation in the league above. Has worked in some difficult situations - always with dignity. He needs time and space to sort this and I am sure he has already been involved as told a few weeks ago- not his identity- in some of the recruitment decisions.
I will be really interested in how this plays out as DT has really called the ownership out. They are pretty lucky fans are not in the ground as this is fawazesque.
Good luck to both Sabri and Hughton!

Pretty similar style to sabri really

Sabri tried to play from the back. He has brought centre backs in who can do that. Houghton plays like O Neil and Megson. Get the ball forward early. Nothing like the same style.

That is not correct. He very much likes to play like Sabri hos done. Comfortable defending in a low block and counter attack when the opportunity comes. At least that is what he did in the Premier League.

Hughton is known for his direct style. He plays 4 4 2. Early  Balls down the channels to turn the centre backs. Karanka and Sabri were defensive managers but did try to play out from the back.

He played more cautiously with Brighton in the Premiership, similar to Sabri. 4-2-3-1 with wingers defending deep and two holding midfielders.

First thing that should happen Is Gaz Brazil promoted to Sporting director / DOF now. Let him work on creating a scouting structure and pathway to the first team for both players and coaches.
Get Cohen back as assistant manager and Reid as first team coach. Getvrid of the idiot who sits in the stupid box next to the home bench. Sack off Modesto and keep a professional reporting line to the ownership.

Sounds like a dream plan to enable the present & protect the future.
