I'm not sure about anyone else but from when CH left onwards, this really has been one of, if not the most enjoyable season I can remember since Billy mk1 when we had that unbeaten away record (great chant) and had the famous WBA away win. We're playing exciting attacking football, based on youth and pace with a sprinkling of experience and a couple of players that appear to be outgrowing this league. Plus we're in the FA Cup QF for the first time since 96 was it? Incredible.
Sadly, there are only 10 league games left, so what do we have left:
Blackpool (A) - 13th
Coventry (H) - 11th (catch up game)
Birmingham (H) - 20th
Luton (A) - 5th
WBA (H) - 12th
Peterborough (A) - 24th
Swansea (H) - 15th
Bournemouth (A) - 2nd (catch up game)
Hull (A) - 19th
Plus a game against Fulham (A) - 1st to slot in somewhere near the end.
That looks like a pretty decent run-in to me. Blackpool, Cov, Swansea, Brum, Hull likely not got a lot left to play for which are always good fixtures to have near the end.
You'd expect at least 7 from those first 3 games, if we could get another 4 from two tricky games (optimistic), plus then beat Peterborough and Swansea it really could give us a shot at Bournemouth depending on how they do in the same period. How absolutely massive might that game be?! I'm nervous just thinking about it...
Oh and we've got to fit an FA Cup SF in there somewhere too! :giggle:

Just to add Bournemouth have Hudds, WBA, Sheff U, Boro, Cov, Fulham, Blackburn, Us and Millwall still to play! (Plus Bristol C & Swansea)
It feels like a good time to acknowledge this given we've not got a league game for a few weeks now. No time for it to immediately be over.
As good a season as it's been so far, it will be sad if we don't at least make the playoffs from here.

We are going up Autos. The game Scott Parker had called off is gonna be his downfall because when we take 3 points off him and we are taking that number two spot in the process

A couple of weeks ago I'd say you were a nutter for saying that but now, well, you never know. It would need us to win probably 8 out of our 10 games left and for Bournemouth & Udders to catch a cold, but it is possible. We look like we're as good as any team in the division atm.
Our biggest challenge are these injuries. No team can take 3 players out of their defence and not be hindered in some way.

We've at least got 2.5 weeks before our next league game so chance to heal. Hopefully McKenna was just a tight, I guess we'll know soon enough.
Also, I'm starting to think Colback at LWB allowing Garner/Yates to play deeper is our best starting lineup (meaning Zinc playing).

Ha yeah and we haven't got another game for ages so we can speculate for a bit! I'm also in my head imagining what this team could look like if we did somehow go up...

That run in thought doesn't look too bad at all. We couldn't really ask for more.

I tell you one thing, not a single team in the league will want to play is right now, that tells you everything about this team and where we are.
Fantastic. Go hard against liverpool, 2 weeks off and wrap everybody up in cotton wool ahead of Blackpool.
Get them across to Greece for some deserved sun Sniff. Maybe use olympiakos training ground for some sessions.

Kind of agree with both of you, the only sensible thing to do is one game at a time but the team we currently have just has such a good chance you cant help but try to work it out.
A couple of points. Firstly Wassy in my opinion the vibe around the place is miles better than Billy mk1, the overall optimism from the fans, team spirit, style of play, easily the best since mid 90s. Maybe the Paul Hart era is the closest there comes. FYI Billy had us playing well at home, away was a different matter we were a dour niggly side.
Second games in hand mean nothing as the old cliche goes. If you want to speculate, go for 2 points a game, do that for 9 games, 18 points gives us 76 total and should squeeze us into top 6. 10th game is Fulham away now 26/4, Im counting that as 0 points. Get to top 6 and of course anything goes.

I would quite happily take Brennan getting 'injured' against Liverpool and recovering just after the international matches.
Just glad not many of the other usual starting XI haven't had call-ups!
