Couldn't see a thread anywhere for Toffolo so thought I'd start one. When we signed him I don't think many fans would've thought he'd turn out the better of the two ex-Huddersfield players for us but so far that has certainly been the case.
I can't think if any games he's played for us where he's had a real stinker. He's always been pretty solid though maybe not quite as adventurous as Lodi was. However he's still managed to pop up with a few important contributions, none less so than his two assists vs. Villa on Sunday. Can't recall one of the PL's form players in Diaby causing him too much trouble either.

I've banged the Toff drum for a while as like you say he solid if not spectacular but improving into a very decent PL LB. Not blessed with great pace but theres something to be said for a steady type when you've got someone more adventurous on the other side.
Appears from twitter his kids love watching him in red, too.

Toff is indeed someone you always want in your squad and always good if we need a more defensive minded RB. If we do revert to a 352 that’s probably where he is more limited.
The left back situation is quite odd compared to last year. We haven’t really replaced Lodi, Cooper seems to prefer 2 right footers either Aina or Williams (who did very well on Sunday) out of position if wanting more attacking pace. He even played Niakhate there, hope he doesn’t again that really didn’t work.
Nuno doesn’t seem to be getting a look in, not meaning to write him off as haven’t seen enough although I think quite a few of us were sceptical when he signed.
Going off topic now, apologies but neither of our 2 Premier League loan places are being properly utilised, both Nuno and Santos are spare parts. Would prefer it if we cancelled both in January and brought in a forward or 2 on loan.

To be fair to Nuno he has been injured.
Not sure on Santos. January/February with AFCON I think we'd lose Sangare and Kouyate from the midfield leaving Mangala, Dominguez, Danilo and Yates. Suppose that's only for a couple of games though and those plus Aguilera should be enough to see us through, so maybe you're right.

Was amazed at how much ground he covered on Sunday to assist with the first goal. After he gives the ball to Elanga who plays a 1-2 with Dominguez, Toffolo sets off from 10-15 yards in his own half to reach the edge of the Villa penalty area to lay off the ball for Aina. He is certainly no slouch.

Too early to judge on Nuno surely? He was injured just when he was about to get an extended run. I can't say I've been convinced with what I've seen but without an extended run it'd be hard to properly judge. I think he'll get a chance at some point to play a few games in a row.

Not writing Nuno off, just saying from who Cooper has played there to date he seems to be 4th choice and if that is the case I think there are more useful positions where we could utilise a loan space.
The way Toffolo is playing he keeps his place for now and good on him.

I like Harry too!
He has handled himself extremely well throughout his time here and has been a model professional in the way he has dealt with not getting into the side.
It would appear that he has seized this opportunity with both hands and for me the LB slot is now his to lose.

People can say what they want about Bong and I would probably agree with most of it but he could cross a ball as good as Harry who I like. He is one of them who makes the game look so easy and he is such a natural in his position.

I think this is still on topic so apologies if you disagree.
Our loan signings have been disappointing this season but I see that as a positive.
If the likes of Toffolo, Aina and Williams are keeping loan players out it means less disruption to the squad/starting 11 next season. Let them be cheap temporarily squad players.
