So normally i wait for Sniff to put up the topic with all the useful information before we start talking about the game. But we now find ourselves potently facing our biggest match so far this season and with a real fight to hold on to our PL status. And i'm sure a lot of you like me have much to say on this.
Do we think we can pull off a rare away win? we struggled against them at home and limped to the final whistle. What makes us so sure we can go do better this time round?
We have see that nuno's teams put in one good display every 5 or six games so was the man city game our good game and now we face a dip in performances until the end of the season? what needs to be done to make sure we add consistency to allow us to get goals and win this game?
Now that sheff Utd are gone what will they be like? will we see a team up their game, players fighting to showcase themselves to earn a move to another team? or will they be dejected and crumble if forest score first.
So much is riding on this match and without a win i feel it would be the end of us in the PL. So we must be aggressive and take the game to them from the kick off. The first goal will determine this game i feel as well. no doubt it will be a tight and very nervous match for us and i do wonder if the team has the mental ability to cope with it.
Its going to be a hard watch that is for sure but it has to be something we believe we can win.

Now they are down, the pressure is no longer on them, but it will be massively on us. We will be nervous and mistakes will be made.
They know this is a 'local derby' and there is history between the two sides. They will want to beat 'the scabs' for their fans.
This has all the potentials to be a major banana skin.

It's obviously a big game but they did just get relegated. They are maybe the worst PL team since Derby. I'm sure they'll start fast but they will fade as it goes on. We just need to be professional and take the sting out of the game.
Need to score a few though as got to assume we'll concede from a set piece at some point.

Sheffield United have a very poor home record with having played 17 games winning only 2 of those games so far. Scoring only 18 goals in those 17 games they have conceded 51 so this is one away game Forest should enter in hope of coming back with something at the final whistle.
However, it should not be taken as a given as sheff utd score 1.06 goals per home match so a goal every 85 mins and have kept their only clean sheets of the season at home. On goals scored Sheff utd seem to do most of the scoring between 31-45 mins or 61-75. They are not a team that give up and have the tenacity to fight regardless of scoreline. Forest away tends to concede at least 2.06 goals per game so sheff utd will see this a weakness to exploit.
On goals conceded at home forest will take heart that even if they are losing Sheff utd tend to concede late goals with a massive 48% conceded in the last half hour of which 28% in in the final 15 mins. With a rate of 3 goals conceded per match as well forest will definitely have chances throughout the match. Forests away scoring record tho is considered very poor and only manage 1 goal away from home per match.
Past head to head record shows that of the last 16 meetings they've had, Sheffield United has won 5 times and Nottingham Forest has won 5 times. 6 fixtures between Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest has ended in a draw.
Looking at the form for (home form only) sheff utd vs (away form only) Forest. Sheffield have the edge with Sheff utd having gained one extra point than forest in the last six games.
Based on the statistics for both side there is a 65% both teams will score in this game with a 38% chance forest is the most likely to inflict the first strike over Sheff utd 29% chance of scoring first. The remaining 33% for the team to score first is that no one scores first so 0-0.
What we can say is this game is going to be very tight and mathematically speaking the most likely out come is a draw which has a 45% outcome probability.

If we fail to come back with 3 points then quite frankly we deserve to be playing Championship football next season.

They have had some decent moments of late so can, on occasion, be capable of getting a result.
They were one all with Liverscum with 15 minutes to go, drew 2-2 against Chelsea and were 2-1 up against Man Utd until Fernandes penalty.
We shouldn’t underestimate them but we shouldn’t fear them either.
We really need CHO and Elanga to be on top of their game.

They have a lot of players and staff that we absolutely shit housed in the playoffs and will want to bury us.
Agree with the above regarding not deserving to stay up if we can't win such games.
We should be good for a win if we dont give away loads of fouls and keep our former academy graduate quiet.
Chris Wood needs some confidence. Great opportunity for him to get it back.
If stick with a back 5 as they are more open to pick out.

4 ex Forest players Ahmedozic, Brereton, Osborn, Robinson plus McBurnie who hates us because we tried to put him behind bars.
Think its safe to say they will be up for this.
They are however a very weak team with no confidence so no excuses we need the win.

This has the potential to be a horrible game due to the rivalry and animosity that exists between the two clubs and the circumstances both clubs find themselves in.
They have a very soft underbelly but Wilder is also likely have them with a point to prove - not just against us but the league. I remember when we were last relegated in 99. We also got relegated with three to play and went on to win the last three. Nobody really knows how united will respond to the confirmation of relegation - it could be meak: it could be with a burden off them. I don't know if it works in our favour... all I do know is that this is Nottingham forest we are talking about and we rarely take the straightforward route.
I do know that if we play as we did against city, we really do have enough quality that we should win. But that has been one of our problems all season. We've generally matched most sides - certainly the top sides (other than Liverpool away where we were pretty poor) and given then a proper game even if our return on points has not been great
Unfortunately it's these sides who we should be doing better against where We've messes up. Draws against palace, Luton, wolves, burnley ; defeats to Everton, Brentford. If you look at our record against bottom half sides, it really hasn't been good enough.
Plus corners... it is farcical how bad we have become on corners.
Anyway, hopefully some good news with Everton and Luton plus anything back from the appeal would be a bonus. If we are 3 points ahead at the end of the weekend then I will start to believe we can avoid a final day nerve shredder
