It's 30 years since we were last in the top three of the Premier League (I'm not counting the time after three matches or whatever under Dave Bassett) so I thought it'd be interesting to compare the two teams and see who we'd all pick from both of them. Choose whichever formation you like and post your teams below. Some positions are pretty tricky! Here's what I'd go for (4-2-3-1):

Subs: Crossley, Milenkovic, Moreno, Yates, Anderson, Bohinen, Woan, Roy, Wood
Goalie was pretty-much 50/50 between Matz and Mark but I find Sels a more calm character so I gave it to him.
Full backs were probably the easiest choices. Centre halves were tougher but I had to pick Murillo and Cooper just shaded it because Milenkovic has played fewer matches.
I think Gemmill and Dominguez would have a nice balance with Scot carrying the ball and Dominguez doing the donkey work.
Stone edges Elanga and CHO's pace just beats Woan. MGW vs. Bohinen was a tricky one but I think Morgan can influence games more.
Had to be Stan up front (sorry Woody).

Really. Cooper could play football and scored a fair few goals.

I more or less agree with your team but I would have Danilo in for Domenguez and Milenkovic for Cooper because Murillo and Cooper as a pair I think would be too small.

I went to every game home and away in that season.
That team was much underrated back then and over time it’s collective efforts have been overshadowed by Stan’s achievements.
I’m not even convinced that MGW is our best number ten right now but he is nowhere near the player Lars wars. He could do and see things that no one else could.

I would stick with Collymore and Roy up top. Problem is we played a traditional 442 then. They remain the most exciting combination I have seen though.

Some good points here. I did consider that Cooper and Murillo aren't the tallest partnership but I think their ability would make up for it.
If I'd have gone 4-4-2 I'd have stuck with Collymore and Roy but I prefer this formation.
Let's see some of your other teams then!

At least the kit choices would be simple.
I think i'd have to have cooper and Milenkovic as a pairing and Bohinen was my favourite player until, well obviously the drama around the move.
