My opinion we only needed 12-14, certainly not 22, Im don’t believe it helps team spirit. Too many echos of the summer of Sabri 2 years ago.
Just not convinced there was joined up thinking all the way. Were they all really Cooper’s choices? I think we can already see from his team selections there are a few he doesn’t fancy. I wish we had been a little more with the continuity and tried harder to bring in some of last seasons loans.
I’m not sure how the transfer selections are identified but is it really a possibility that Cooper would not had some input, however small, into the majority of them?

Think we may be hearing that a lot. On a different point thought our support was down a notch yesterday, we have to accept where we are at and stay behind the team. Our only hope is home wins and we need to play our part.

I didn't hear any boos for any of the subs. An I suspect if there were it was possible for Cooper taking him off rather than his performance.
I did hear boos at the end of the game, and after that truly awful 2nd half display, I'm not surprised.
I think it's too early to rate this transfer window.

So as Sniff put it on another post, is it the old boys struggling or the new ones or both?! (Probably both sadly)
I've seen enough to make judgements on some of the new players. My early view is more misses than hits sadly, which is fine, its going to happen just going to make it tough. Also, perhaps we've been unlucky that two of the possibly better ones got injured.
Taiwo - seems to have a knack to get into good positions but his touch is really bad. The ball just hits him, is that something you can pick up? He's not as good as Davis was so far that's for sure.
MGW - I think maybe people are defensive because of how much we paid for him and that everyone wants this one to work. I think there are some good things, his touch is nice and you can see shoots of hope. However, he repeatedly underhit through balls last night and hasn't really created a chance of note in the last few games. Also, missed a great chance early yesterday when he scuffed a shot. I still believe he will be a good player but he is definitely not exempt from criticism.
Freuler - Maybe harsh to judge on two games but he didn't look good last night. He looked slow, his passing was poor and often mishit. I want to give him more time before writing him off but will he get it?
Lingard - probably the most disappointing one for me. Just because you supposedly knew what you were getting with him and yet we don't seem to have got that! Perhaps it's a system issue and he looks better in a number 10 role when we're playing a back 4? Nice ball to put Jonno through last night.
Dennis - wanted to mention him just because everyone wants to see him in. Suspect he's the one that has caused the alleged rift. Have not seen anything so far to suggest he's great and the personality stuff from Watford is worrying. However, given he's not been given proper minutes from a playing perspective it would be unfair to criticise him (although his handball last night at the end was frustrating).
Those are probably the ones I'd be concerned about. I think Lodi and Henderson so far are the only ones I've thought we've definitely hit on. Neco has been fine too, just not as good as Spence. Mangala looked good before the injury, Niakhate will see. O'Brien has been better than expected (same with toff).
I'm sure there's more players that I've not mentioned worth discussing. Would be interested to see if it's just me whose concerned about the above. I think to go back to the start you could have a separate post to discuss the flaws of the existing players ie Worrall, McKenna, Brennan and Yatesy.

One of those goals was a fluke that bounced off him. He's also missed two open goals in two games too.
I'm referring to everything else about his game. His touch, his hold up play, his shooting. Davis offered me overall despite not being a fantastic finisher IMO.
In the short amount of time we've seen from both players it's fair to judge on peripherals and underlying attributes rather than just goals. (Same applies to Kouyate)
I do agree his knack of getting into good positions is an asset. Maybe that's enough, I'm just projecting based on what I've seen. Hopefully I'm wrong on all of these guys!

Getting goalscorers at this level is the biggest challenge, doesn’t matter how he scores them.
I do agree that technically he looks poor and I would question the price we paid for him but there have been plenty of players at this level of a similar ilk.
FWIW I think we would have been relegated with the likes of Zinc and Davies at this level, it’s been coined “doing a Norwich”

The other point with bringing in so many is has it diluted the average quality of the incomings. Instead of spending £150m on 22 players spend the same amount on 12. Yes some were free so thats not exact but you get the point.
Therefore instead of 17m on Awoniyi and 20m on Dennis (I know thats with add ons) we spend £35m on someone of higher quality to both. Who I have no idea, anyone proven in the PL goes for £50m plus. The only one I think at that level is Scamacca who went to West Ham. We will have to see if he does better than Dennis or Awoniyi, its more the theory I wonder about.

I’ve seen plenty of posts suggesting that last season’s team would beat this one, the implication is pretty clear
