I'm going to predict we finish above:

Leicester, Southampton, Ipswich, Everton, one of Wolves/Bournemouth/Brentford so I guess that's 15th.

If the defence is genuinely good there is potential for top 10 though.

If we were genuinely top 10 at xmas, we might actually be able to attract a decent striker. Maybe SM's man will finally sign...

Im watching his progress with interest. Maybe he will score 30 by January and get a move to Madrid.
However on evidence so far that’s unlikely. He has just got his wish and played in the CL and got a 0-4 thumping for his trouble. Ive checked the stats, he played the whole game and didn’t manage a shot despite playing CF. His other teammates at least managed 12.

Yes we do need a striker in January, if we can stay mid table at least we will look a far more attractive proposal for someone decent.

I'm still going 13th.

I will go for 11th.

Im certainly not predicting but I hoping for 12th, it would show good progress and anything higher would be a bonus.

Just out of interest anybody want to change their mind or are you sticking to your guns?

Well my prediction was 10th if we have a good defence, which I'm willing to say we do now! So, think that's probably still about right.

I think this needs to be revisited after this run of games.

Things are going far too well to jinx it with a prediction. Lets just say hope to be able to reply at the end of the season with how wrong I was.

I was thinking about 8 to 12 and if we finish in the top ten that will be great. Getting into the smaller European competition might be a curse but as its the aim I guess we had better get used to the idea.

I said 15/16th and i will not be changing it until we get past the brutal Christmas period where we face a lot of really tough games in such a short period of time. We are only two points better off against the same teams/matches as last season if you replaced the promoted teams with the ones who went down. The real test is going to be now where we didn't get anything in the like for like games.

Yup and we've got four of those coming up in the next five matches with Ipswich at home sandwiched in the middle.

4pts better off
Your comparing Southampton with Sheffield United
Southampton and Luton won the Play offs that should be the comparison.

19pts
14 goals scored.
7 goals conceded
+7 GD

15pts
14 goals scored
13 goals conceded
+1 GD

We would also have to go to last seasons levels from now on in to finish 15th/16th
