This has been my personal favourite for many years. First heard it in late teens from some original boot boys who we got to know as we started our nights out at The Nav, next door to The Irish. They had some great stories. They seemed really old to us, but one night a bunch of gobby Uni students, mostly Southerners kicked off with them (something to do with the pool table as I recall). They were outnumbered and there were four of us sat at a table by the window which overlooks canal. We decided we should add numbers to even things up. By time we stood up and were on our way over it was all done. Total carnage, but very quick! (Landlord a bit peed off due to a broken window). They thought it was really funny that we had thought they would need our help. Cracking blokes though.

A bit random I know, but I umpired in an U13 Cricket match between 2 MCC hubs in Sussex and a kid came on to bowl (leg spin i think). His name was shouted to the scorers as Ardron. I asked the obvious and it turned out his Great Grandad was indeed the great Wally.

Sandy Richardson was a wheelchair bound actor who used to play in a series called Crossroads that was filmed in Birmingham.
So when a team from the Birmingham area used to visit the City Ground the Forest fans would chant 'You are going home like Sandy Richardson'.
Sniffer you are right, it is cringeworthy.
