I felt he was running the show in the 1st half.

Many premiership teams when facing a top 6 side even at home play safe football. They end up losing 2-0 quite often. I’d rather us play like this - expansive and positive- and lose 2-0 than Houghton clone football…

I suppose on reflection I should moderate my views of the lad; they say form is temporary but class is permanent so let’s hope he can settle in and improve his fitness.
If we get Aouar in then he’ll need to be on it, for sure.

Not wanting an argument DR but I think you've got Lingard's performance yesterday wrong. For the first time this season we saw what he might be about, picking up the ball and Brennan and MGW running off him to create passing opportunities. He might not be entirely what we thought we were getting yet, but he's improved significantly. Probably due to fitness improving and MGW buzzing about around him.

And come on, who hasnt got the odd man boob? Lets not castigate him for that.

Well, I understand Coops has now banned male players from wearing training bras at the doughty academy so he’ll get the message

In my defence I was trying to watch the spurs game from my phone app in a cottage in the middle of nowhere and it was 90% buffering so I’m pleased to hear he is improving, because I was at Newcastle and the less said the better.

I did still think we would get a more dynamic type of player who runs at defenders (like MGW) but maybe that will come. I hope so

I imagine a lot of that will depend on what Cooper wants him to do.

Got to say I was a bit suprised to see how much body fat he appeared to be carrying when he arrived. I dont know if thats just his natural shape, or he's been on the iced buns over summer.

Re his performances, we mustn't forget he's had hardly any game time since left west ham so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for his slowish start. But regardless, he was half decent yesterday.
