Who you taking out for him?

He’s a starter at the moment, except when suspended

Mmm, not so sure now.

We need more goals from open play and Elanga provides that threat. Obviously we sometimes have to change shape to get a result but if we are free flowing at our best Elanga is running with pace creating chances and scoring.

Yes, agree with you completely. What I meant is that I'm not sure Nuno thinks he's starter material now.

Well so is Danilo except when injured.

He is the one to get hooked at the minute when we need an extra man in midfield isn't he. CHO was last season in large parts. I think it's just the choice that has to be made when we change shape. They are nice debates to be having.

I'm not sure what Elanga brings bar raw pace and a poor conversion rate.

Yes he created the chance for Neco and yes the assist vs Liverpool but these are just moments, not worthy of a starting berth.

I think it was his run into the box that created the Wood goal v Bournemouth too.

He squanders a few shots no argument and he needs to improve that part of his game.

It's an interesting conversation because people might argue (me included) we are less threatening at home trying to be more expansive and should try and play like we are away more. If that's the case and either CHO or Elanga get hooked for a midfielder, then someone from midfield needs to start scoring goals which they aren't doing.

Wood 4 goals (3 from set pieces)
MGW 1 goal (kinda from a set piece)
CHO 1 goal
Sosa 1 goal

2 of the 3 open play goals this season Elanga has been involved in.

Elanga has been a good player for us in the last year.

I wonder what Anderson’s is I could look for it, I assume a chance is defined by any progressive ball into the box either by a cross or traveling with the ball into the box?

I think this table perhaps shows i was being unduly harsh on Elanga, as his missing chances are what stick in the memory whereas chance creation he's clearly up there.

It still raises a good point as to what is our best system I think. But we need more goals from open play that's for sure.

Anderson is very good at playing the pass early into the player who makes the assist (secondary assist).
This lad has got it all IMO
