Antonio and Assombalonga were good signings and made us a profit, but apart from that who else did he spot? As much as I wanted Veldwijk to succeed he was a bit of a disaster. Fryatt's injury problems were well known. Mancienne didn't work out and neither did Tesche really.

7m spent to get a return of 46 goals + 15m profit between them. That's game changing for a club like ours, and the profit more than covers the few free/cheap flops like Lars & Fryatt

All I'm saying is I think Pearce maybe gets too much credit for being some amazing spotter of talent.

The owners are in a tricky predicament. Give a man money who fans are losing faith in. He spends it..bad start and sacked. Money is wasted again and another manager vwith a different ethos. The way things are going playoffs next season would be a massive achievement.

MoN is dealing with a squad assembled by Mark and Aitor.

I look at their transfer windows over the 3 windows and think.

I don't recall the fans being that happy with Mark's windows.  Or Aitor's January window.  The Summer window under Aitor and the hierarchy wasn't so hot.  Lots of mediocre.  Light on the top 2 quality needed.

Of the players Forest have now.  Let's be honest.  How many are top 2 for the money spent?

Who bought those players.

Out of the 44.  How many stay?  How many are top 6?  Not many judging by the sheer amount of rotation under Aitor and MoN.

But the latter didn't assemble those 44 players.

I think we give MoN and Roy Summer to Summer.  They can't do it?

They walk away having given it their best shot.

What's gone wrong?  Last Summer.  Naive waste of £25 million.

You talk a lot about terrible recruitment last summer, however I remember most people being generally happy in the summer. Most agreed pants was fine then, we only really lacked a left back. Although we then sold brereton so we were short a striker too. Otherwise I was personally happy with the squad.

Got unlucky with byram injury (and figs later) and it turned out Dias/goncalves weren’t that good although the latter never really got enough games to have an impact. However that’s how it works when you sign players they don’t all work out. This is why signing a whole new team which I’m assuming is what you’re advocating is a bad idea. You think we need more players with championship experience. We did sign grabban byram robinson Dawson colback to add to the likes of Watson. It was really only the Portuguese and Soudani (who didn’t look great admittedly). A gamble worth taking in my opinion, although it hasn’t paid off. Could’ve gone the other way and they tore the league up. Particularly as they were loans, obviously the carvalho one was different, less convinced that was worthwhile
