Yes.
Well said username
And nothing was changed so I gather.
And was the reason I left just after half time.

Obsolete formation for me and especially with the players we have. We don’t have one physical and mobile centre midfielder let alone the two that would be a must to pull it off. We basically conceded the middle of the park in the hope of hitting them on the counter attack, which we lacked the pace and accuracy of balls in to the front two to really get any joy from. The amount of space Bristol got out wide was unbelievable, the ease in which they played round our two in the middle with the extra man was embarrassing at times.
The last team I remember really making it work were Arsenal with a 4411 variation with Bergkamp and Henry up top, Viera and Petit in the middle with Pires (?) and Ljungberg (?) on the wings and those boys could get up and down, physically impose themselves and play a fair bit as well.

That was absolutely shite. Not just the formation but the predictable play, everyone playing in straight lines and the aimless punts forward.
It was laughable how easy they worked the ball around us in the first time. It was like it was 12 v 10.

Leicester were fortunate to have Kante, a freak of a midfielder and Okazaki who played up front bit did a lot of defensive work

Burnley have used it effectively in the last few years (forgetting this season) as do Bournemouth. Other teams have used it as a 4411 successfully Brighton/Watford for example. In the championship hull/Bristol city/Birmingham use it effectively with decent results.
It’s a formation that creates potential to overachieve with average players. It’s probably not my personal favourite but I do like it if you’re an average team. We’ve played 4231 or 433 for years unsuccessfully. Also people saying it was rubbish today, fine but it’s not like we’ve dominated many games this season playing 4231, at least this means in theory when we do get forward we have better options to create clear cut chances.
It obviously looks bad as you do concede the middle of the pitch and you are forced to play more direct than some would like but I don’t think it’s the outdated formation some make out

Weve gone from a sophisticed, organised, tight and coherent team to a bunch of cloggers who hoof it forward. Seeing Grabban, Lolley Yavob look well average after AK had them looking absolute quality was a real let down.. No way are we going to be instantly winning games under MON. I can see us going on a poor run now before we eventually get better but of course, if it hasnt already do so, the 6 six will be long gone and then so will MON.

I'd bump my thread that I did on it months ago if I could be bothered. It's an awful formation with no place in modern football.
