What’s Gone Wrong?
#13
Whats gone wrong is EGO.

EGO pure and simple.

Its why Football Forums fall into disarray. People argue and bicker as opposed to just getting on with things.

Karanka is a moody bugger...………..he did not like the backroom changes going on and rather than just concentrating on his job as manager he got all moody and pissy because people were being put in above him and taking over some of his non-1st team squad related activities.

So he got moody, the board got moody, everyone got moody, the players lost their way as the manager was moody and disinterested and we are where we are.

It is what it is.

MoN now has to deal with a disappointed squad who say the chance of promotion but now see mid table - and who are moody about losing the chance they had.

Today showed everyone that everything is a mess. How they recover this week will be what defines the future. MoN has to go back to the formations of Karanka and work on them. The players need to invigorate themselves and fight and stop thinking the world has ended.

I don't blame the board for this, I blame Karanka. If he would have just knuckled down and accepted the changes this mess would have been avoided.

Sounds plausible to me.

So, he did not get the players he wanted - so he threw his toys out of the pram.

Whose fault is that ?

To say Karanka is blameless is utter nonsense. He could have simply carried on and did his best. We are expected to believe therefore that he was totally justified in doing what he did and giving up and not bothering with training much anymore - because he was not getting the players he wanted.

AK is not blameless.

You only have to look at his walking out on a Friday to tell you that...…...what kind of person walks away 24 hours before a game.

Unrealistic expectations and pressure placed upon players and staff is root cause for me. That has caused the numerous decions and issues which have derailed the season. We are now in transition again which ultimately the board need to accept and acknowledge as their fault. Can't see that happening when just reference the investment versus creating a supportive environment. MON will know what he has taken on and will do will if he can shoulder that.

Glad AK isn't getting away with it Scott free. Let's not forget that the board (or Marthur) tried to undermine & screw Davies over at every turn, and he had the balls to stay & still take us to the playoffs 2 years on the spin.

No reason why AK couldn't have done that. Davies didn't get an influx of players, after the first window he got loans & make-do cheapos like Tudgay.

Whilst I'm angry at the board for screwing up another season, I'm so disapointed in AK for actually walking it's unreal. A winner he ain't. A quitter his is.

I hear this a lot but the expectations were the ones the manager not only agreed to before he signed, but also the ones he would have said in pre-signing negotiations that he could deliver on.

If you hire a painter & ask him if he can get the room finished by Friday, for your son's wedding reception, & he says "yes", you'd have very little sympathy if you turned up Friday morning & he said "Sorry squire, them was unrealistic expectations, it's going to take at least another month, cost you at least double, your wife's been pissing me off, so I've been shouting at her, I've bitch slapped your daughter, kicked your dog & practically downed tools, so pull your finger out, or I'm going to walk & leave you in the s**t".

If the expectations are unreasonable or unrealistic don't take the job.

I don’t believe for one second that Karanka signed Carvalho, Dias or Goncalves. I’m sure he didn’t object to them being added to the squad (no sane individual would when the talent was purportedly worth a combined £30m).

I think Mendes had Marinakis pants down and too much belief / emphasis on the Wolves template.

Just my opinion though.

Signings like tachtsidis and arnsarifard. We just added more players for the sake of it . No real plans there.
