Dan, I can only assume, from your assessment, that you have not had chance to witness either Tyler or Grabban play recently.

I have seen Tyler play around 15 times over the last two seasons and trust me, he does not put in more effort into creating his own chances; the similarity drawn with Assombalonga is fair in some respects, in that, in the main, he comes to life inside the box; he is a harder worker than Brit, but not by much.

When you compare Grabban with Brit you are doing him a massive disservice; Grabban is a team player, he works his socks off, brings players into the game and scores more than his fair share of goals; Assombalonga is not, never has been, and never ever will be in the same class as Grabban.

Assombalonga is a throw back, a relic, he needs a forward to play off, something he just will not get; his supporters will point to his scoring record, which is good, but his detractors will point to his over all contribution, or lack of it, and the impact that has on the teams he has played for.

In the three seasons he played for us our league position went downwards (14th, 16th & 21st), although he did miss the best part of the second season; that pattern has repeated itself at Middlesborough (5th, 7th and currently 18th)

In the days of gegenpress and defending from the front you cannot afford to carry passengers, not even goal scoring ones.

Tbf fair Grabban when he was Tyler's age he was very similar to him. Grabs has only really started grafting more in recent times.

There is nothing wrong with those stats.
We have a very good player in Tyler who has the opportunity to level up over the next three months.
Whether he stays with Forest or moves on I'm confident the club will get good value from him.

There was also the diving header, something I cannot recall seeing from a Forest striker for a while.
Yes, it's goals that will count, let's hope he gets the game time to score them.

I think at the end of the season we will know one way or the other.

Really hope he gets a few appearances and goals between now and the end of the season.

A lot of very good judges in the game rate Tyler very highly.
he is a late developer but he has the tools to play at a very good level
