Difficult to look beyond Lloyd & Burns as a pairing - they must have been an absolute nightmare to play against. Any ‘shy, retiring’ strikers were beaten before they stepped on the pitch.
Einar Aas was sheer class - just such a pity that we saw so little of him.

We have had some outstanding Centre Backs over the years.

Bob McKinlay, Larry Lloyd, Kenny Burns, Einar Aas, Des Walker, Chris Fairclough, Colin Cooper I thought they were all absolutely brilliant.

One or two unerrated ones too like Terry Wilson, Sammy Chapman and Colin Foster. I remember Johnny Metgod playing there too sometimes. We have been blessed with some top class Centre Backs over the years.

I remember all those mentioned. Gentleman Bob would be no. 1 for consistency and reliability. Big Larry for power and dominance nearly matched by Sammy Robert Chapman. Einar Aas for elegance and fluidity. Des Walker of course for all round quality. Chetts and David Needham for totally honesty. Again Needham this time with Kenny Burns for goal threat. For excellence of accurate distribution my vote would go to Michael Dawson. The most mobile and clever would be Colin Cooper. For scaring the opposition and for overall contribution to the team I go for the great Kenny Burns. He's my overall winner but not by much ahead of some wonderful players in the Garibaldi including those that I haven't mentioned.

Des walker for me was the best defender I ever saw live prior to his Italian move. He was still brilliant when he came back after retirement for a year!

Disagree Alf. I thought at Forest Morgan was mostly average.

Fair play though, he did very well at Leicester.

In my opinion Morgan cannot be mentioned in the same breath has Burns, Lloyd, Walker, Cooper, Fairclough, Metgod and Chettle etc for what they all contributed in a Forest shirt.
