So, we get our own 'Super Scout' instead of having to go to Mendez cap in hand?

That's fair dinkum by me.  It gives Forest a lot more clout in scouting.  Which, was formerly a major weakness in the running of the club for the last 20 years.  

The teams that got promoted were run better, scouting better and they passed Forest in the fast lane because, primarily of scouting, I'd suggest.  Why?  Because those clubs were run better.

So getting in somebody who really has the contacts, CAN scout 'next level' talent and potential gives Forest the kind of revenue to run the club, get the players who can get you promoted AND stay there.

Lastly, the French market.  Some great talent there.  And are Forest represented well in the scouting in that area?  Sounds like the new 'signing' could be pivotal in that region.  Lots to like about the French way of football and how the national team play.  Many of their qualities would suit well in the Championship and on and into the Premier. ie. Combative and can pass a ball, for starters.

In short?  Great news.  Great signing.

Be interesting to what kind of impact he can have in such a short window. What has he got left to work in? 23 days? Considering he hasn’t even been confirmed as working for us got to be one hell of an ask to bring in 4 big quality deals that will suddenly make us top 6. Plus AK will have his targets for the first team so could result in a bit of internal conflict. I would argue that AK targets are more important because he knows the team, blend of players and knows what is missing. This guy might just be interested in bring in a big names that could be for positions which are not needed or don’t fit. That said my personal view is he will be looking at players who are good young prospects as another source of income for the club.
All if’s and buts and will have to wait and see how it all works.

That's the brief though.  So if he's any good.  He'll do it.

Adomah on high Championship pay and no head room for increased value vs European Championship proven talent on similar wages?  If that's the conflict, I'd side with the Forest hierarchy in that regard.  It's more progressive.  Championship and English talent is expensive.  The view might be that in some instances where you need that pivotal quality of ball playing or striking that going abroad is better for the now and in the future regarding return of investment.

They'll all be working on the positions that need improvement.  They may disagree to the actual target concerned.  That may happen at any club.  Not just Forest.  But Forest seem to have gone for a more continental model where all have their say and 'majority' vote or hierarchy has the casting vote.

Let's see how it works.  It has promise.  January being the 1st test of it.

Anyone with contacts who can bring quality in is welcomed although I suspect Karanka wont be getting much of a say in it.

Does this appointment mean we no longer have dealings with Jorge Mendes? Or maybe they even know each other well?

Rumoured fall out with Mendes with Marinakis might be why Forest are bringing in this kind of scouting talent 'in house.'

Those are the kind of singings you need to make.  Robust players with quality.  And the fact he was been involved with great players from Fabien, Barthez and Drogba tells you he has pedigree.

Let's see if he can pull some rabbits out the hat for Forest.

They need a more commanding keeper, an actual towering CH, a left winger and a pace and power striker.  (Still leaves LB as a problem unless they sign a CH who can cover there...and it still leaves cover for the ACM needed unless they sign a striker/left winger who can do both.)

But yeah, promising that Forest's back room team is again adding 'top expertise' to the hierarchy.  Scouting at the highest level has been Forest's kryptonite for some time.  Run the club well at a high level, the rest will follow.

Off the field, some very impressive talent and resumes, this will trickle down to the 'pitch' and it already has.  But it needs more time to 'get there' to become overwhelming in Forest's fortunes.

He’s going Bly just gone back to France from Spain I think in the summer. Did he play for Chelsea? His name just one that has been mentioned but not sure how reliable. Heard this a few weeks back and seems to fit with anigo. See Nixon is tweeting about owner wanting to go up! Could we be getting real quality in?
