Aye.  I caught that bit too.  Karanka has said before that there is a lot to transfers.

The days of getting in a car Clough style and saying, "Sign this." are over.

You have the domino effect of waiting on Premier teams building out replacements before letting even 3rd or 4th choice players go?   Haggling over fees.  Wages.  Bidding wars.  Other teams getting wind of it.  Due diligence on character, injuries....track record, sounding out players...dealing with agents...sell on fees, appearance clauses...promotion bonuses etc.

We had a similar situation with Pinillos, £1.5m later and it wasn’t worth the risk.

Sorry, don’t mean to be negative but our record with players that have suffered from injuries is poor so it’s hard not to be pessimistic.

Besides, he has left cos he is uber confident, he turned down an improved offer to stay at the hoops and left cos he wants premiership football

Not sure if Dejagh had any form of injury record?

They also gave Cohen his 223rd contract extension. 

Murphy is going to prove a costly signing for little reward.

That’s exciting after watching England at the WC it only heightened my frustration at our inability at set pieces. It would be one of the main focuses in pre season for me. I’d also hire a set piece coach like Leeds and Brentford. I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t have them!

Interestingly players with that in their game generally are defined by that fact, its hardly mentioned in Robinson's case is it because his other attributes are even better, here's hoping anyway

Wonder how many teams will adopt this 'love train' approach to corners that served England so well. France used it themselves after seeing how effective it was for us.

Makes teams go zonal in defending corners but it's the chaos that's the killer. Delivery has to be good though or it all means nothing. 

IMO we'll improve markedly in the set piece department this year primarily thanks to Dawson's prescence.

An almost entirely new back line of Pants, Jack, Dawson, Fig' and...(we'll have to wait and see for the RB.)

I'm a bit surprised that Worrall is never mentioned as a starter. I believe we have 4 very good CBs as I do rate Fox as well. None of the other three CBs have the same range of passing as Foxy has. It will be interesting to see who Karanka will select on the opening day. That to me, is not a foregone conclusion.

Think Dawson is a certain starter when fit. Will be toss up between Figs and Worrall for the other CB start.

Good points Gari. My personal preference is for Daws & Toby but I expect to see Daws & Fox @ Ashton Gate.
